It’s been quite some time since I needed anyone’s help to take care of stuff at home, since I’m quite handy, but there are still a couple of things remaining that I just don’t have the tools, skill or knowledge to do.
What am I talking about, you might be asking yourself right now…
Had a huge tree fall over in the back yard this Thanksgiving and needed it gone ASAP!
I’m not the one to support huge companies, and prefer to do business locally, which is why, when there’s a need to hire a company I dig deep to find the newest businesses in town and call them first, before calling anyone else.
After making 4 calls and getting no responses or callbacks, fifth call was it… I’ve reached the owner of Tree Service Pros VA Beach.
Now, before I go any further, they’ve had no reviews that I could find, so I felt like it was going to be just another guy pretending to be a business owner…
At first the conversation went on a bit awkward, because he was at a job cutting down someone’s tree that went down a while back when Virginia Beach flooded and the noise was simply overwhelming…
After a couple of minutes, he got a chance to step away from the job and take down my info.
We’ve had a very pleasant conversation and met up for my free estimate same day. Cool, right?
That’s what I was thinking too!
I’ve asked him a bunch of questions, to find out why he’s gotten in the tree business, what is driving him and a couple of other personal questions.
It turns out that Tom, is ex-military, he separated from active service and is serving as a Reservist. He is married and has 2 children. His oldest son, Jeremy helps him with tree work when he’s not in school or playing sports. I didn’t get a chance to meet him in person, but Tom has painted a very good picture.
I was also extremely impressed with the way Tom explained and educated me on the process of determining the cost of my job and all the details.
He also recommended a few things to help prepare my yard for the winter and that was all during the FREE estimate, before I made any type of commitment to choose their company for the job…
Tom’s willingness to share all this information with me and essentially educating me for free, moved me to write about their tree removal company.
Did you know that Tree Service Pros VA Beach were also recognized for their service to the community in The Virginia Pilot?
That’s right! Reputable, local newspaper is talking about them!
I’m not here to promote one business over another, but to recognize and possibly shine some light on companies that are just starting out and need some publicity.
Needless to say, I hired Tom to take care of my backyard tree disaster and he has done an amazing job, without overcharging.
This just proves once again that the best in business might not be the most visible ones and it can be well worth it to dig a bit deeper than usual to find the best fit for you.
